Not Late. Not Early.

This week, I came across a photo of a house with a flower-covered façade, and it immediately reminded me of the story of Agnes Kasparková, an elderly woman from a small Czech village who became known for painting delicate blue floral patterns on whitewashed houses. What struck me wasn’t merely the beauty of her work, but the absence of urgency.
Agnes had spent years working in agriculture and participating in the ordinary rhythms of village life. Then, in a different season, she picked up a paintbrush and continued doing what she had always done in another form: caring for the place and people entrusted to her.
I often imagine there is a narrow window in which meaningful work must happen. If I don’t figure things out quickly enough, choose wisely enough, or make the most of every opportunity, I worry that I’ll somehow fall behind. But stories like Agnes’s gently remind me that life with God isn’t a race against the clock. There are seasons for planting and seasons for flowering, and neither is wasted.
What if the question isn’t whether I’m early or late? What if it’s simply this: What has God placed in my hands today? A conversation. A prayer. A small act of beauty. A paintbrush. Perhaps faithfulness looks less like trying to outrun time and more like receiving the season we’re in with gratitude.
One thing I love is noticing when certain themes quietly reappear throughout the days.
Alongside with Agnes story, this week, I stumbled upon two other pieces on Substack that touched on waiting from different angles. Maybe it was coincidence. Or maybe, once our hearts begin paying attention to something, we start recognizing its echoes everywhere.
A note by Life Lessons in Christ reminded readers that waiting on God is never wasted. Simple, but one of those truths I constantly need to hear again.
Then I came across a post by Liza Mission for Christ that reflected on another facet of the same theme: God’s timing is perfect. Not my timing, but His.
I smiled at the synchronicity of it all. The same quiet invitation: trust the One who is never in a hurry.

We are right on time! like you mentioned, I also love when the Lord gives us subtle synchronicity throughout the day. A reminder that we are indeed still in alignment. He is such a good and loving Father

Coincidentally, I came across this note today:
“There is a Japanese concept called “Ma.”

There is so much beauty in wisdom. And there is so much wisdom in this life!
